SINGLE SEATS FOR TECH-UVA GAME GONE

Virginia Tech officials announced Thursday that all individual game tickets, except the student allotment, have been sold for the Hokies' football game against Virginia on Nov.29 at Lane Stadium.

Season tickets remain on sale for all seven of Tech's home games. No tickets are available for just the Virginia game.

The game, to be played the day after Thanksgiving, will be televised by CBS. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.

In other sports news in the region:

University of Virginia junior forward Mike Fisher was named state soccer player of the year by the Virginia Sports Information Directors.

Fisher, the consensus national player of the year, led the nation with a school-record 57 points this past fall. James Madison's Tom Martin was named state coach of the year.

Four Roanoke RiverDawgs made the team: James Madison's Patrick McSorley and Radford's Ian Spooner were first team picks; and JMU's Nathan Fairchild and Radford's Eduardo Wissar made the second team.

From July 8 to Aug.4, the $25,000 Women's Challenger of the Roanoke Valley tennis tournament will be held at the Hunting Hills Country Club. The event is officially sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation and the United States Tennis Association.

The event will feature more than 60 world-ranked women players from an estimated 15 different countries. Admission is free to the public through July 29.
