Baynes-Smith

Michelle Leigh Smith and Brian Paul Baynes were married July 13, 1996, at Chamblissburg Baptist Church with the Reverend George C. Law officiating. The reception was held in the church fellowship hall which was beautifully decorated by Donald and Donna Updike, and W.G. and Mildred Overstreet. Stefanie Flack, a close friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. Other bridesmaids were Brenda Booth, Christa Weaver, Gina Bentley, Suzanne Heckathorne, all of which are friends of Michelle; and Allison and Autumn Baynes, who are sisters of the groom. Kaylah Bryant, a former student and friend of Michelle, was the flower girl. The two miniature flower girls were Olivia Baynes, Brian's niece, and Jessie Hoover, friend of Michelle. Brian's best man was James Baynes, Brian's father. Other groomsmen were Travis Baynes, brother of the groom, and Brad Dunn, Brian Dunn, Derek Lucas, and Ben Tuggle, all close friends of Brian. The ring bearer was Jack Bonifant, Michelle's cousin. Programs were given out by Matthew and Nan Bonifant, cousins of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Dana Hurt, friend of the bride. Very special music was provided by four talented people. Soloists were Doris Simmons and Dean Pollard. The pianist was Dr. Garrett Hurt and the organist was Donna Updike. The two special ladies who helped keep everything together and served beautifully as directors were Donna Hurt and Kathy Hoover. The reception servers were Kelly Smith, sister of the bride, Marietta Smith and Jane Smith, aunts of the bride, and Drema McClung, cousin of the bride. ``Michelle's veil was hand made by her aunt Marietta Smith and give to her as a gift.'' A warm and heartfelt thanks goes out to Mr. and Mrs. David Clifton who hosted a wonderful bridesmaid's luncheon in their home. It was very special and we thank you so much! Brian is employed by Jackso n Sandblasting in Asheboro. Brian and Michelle will live in Asheboro, N. C., after a honeymoon in Cancun.

Bowman-Ferguson

Dana Marie Ferguson and James Anthony Bowman were married May 25, 1996 in Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren by Rev. Graham Sowers. The reception was held at the home of Patricia & Barry Spradlin in Stewartsville. The maid of honor was Tammy Tweedy, the groom's sister. Flowergirl was Jessica Bowman, the groom's daughter. Best man was Lewis Shaffer, friend. The guestbook was attended by Lisa Dooley, friend of the bride. The bride wore an antique satin & lace champagne and ivory gown with antique beads & flowers. She carried a basket of antique white roses, lavender wisteria and baby's breath, done by Cindy Buswell, friend of the bride.

The bride is a daughter of Patricia & Barry Spradlin of Stewartsville and Garland & Renda Ferguson of Blue Ridge. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School, Daleville and National Business College, Roanoke. She is employed by Piedmont Airlines, Inc., Lynchburg. The bridegroom, son of Guy & Shirley Bowman of Lynchburg, is a graduate of Turner Ashby High School, Dayton, Va. He is employed by Estes Trucking Co. The newlyweds will live in Montvale after the wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico.

Carroll-Lamb

Penny Lamb and Darey Carroll were married June 21, 1996. She is the daughter of Shirley Bailey, and he is the son of Stella Carroll.

Cockfield-Sylvester

Rene Suzanne Sylvester and Isaac Robert Cockfield III were united in marriage at seven o'clock in the evening on July 6, 1996, at Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke with Reverend Taylor Todd and Reverend James H. Reed, uncle of the bride, officiating.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and was given in marriage by her parents. She wore a mermaid gown heavily beaded with alencon lace, pearls and sequins with a swee theart neckline and long fitted sleeves.

The maid of honor was Kathleen Trotter of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The bridesmaids were Kathy Reed of Princeton, West Virginia, and Angela Lavender of Durham, North Carolina, both cousins of the bride. The flower girl was Erin Cockerham of Princeton, West Virginia.

Joseph Damiano of Daleville, Virginia, served as best man. Groomsmen were Ike Cockfield, Jr., father of the groom, Joseph Cockfield, brother of the groom, and Nicky Sylvester, brother of the bride. The ring bearer was Eric Mallia of Columbia, South Carolina, cousin to the groom.

The wedding was directed by Joanne Markley. The guest book was attended by Catherine Whitehead. Music and vocal were provided by Marianne Sandborg. The photographer was Barry Brooks of Vinton.

A reception was held at Fitzpatrick Hall in the Jefferson Center with Blondi and Company providing the entertainment.

The bride is the daughter of Fred and Drema Sylvester of Goodview. She attended Staunton River High School and is a graduate of Virginia Tech. She is employed by Henry County Schools.

The groom is the son of Isaac (Ike) R. Cockfield, Jr., of Vinton, and Marilyn Cockfield of Roanoke. He attended William Byrd High School and is a graduate of Virginia Tech. He is employed by Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

After a wedding trip to St. Thomas, the couple will reside in the Martinsville area.

Graham-Boucher

Marie Elizabeth Boucher and David Christopher Graham were married June 29, 1996 in Haran Baptist Church. Officiating was Rev. Dirk Moody. A reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church.

Maid of honor was Kimberly A. Boucher, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Cherie Davis, and Melissa Hall, both friends of the bride. Flowergirl was Melissa Hancock, sister of the groom.

The best man was David Graham, father of the groom. Ushers were Derick Cox, and Chris Minnix, both friends of the groom.

The bride's gown was white taffeta with lace down the front. She carried a bouquet of white roses.

The bride is a daughter of Roger A. and JoAnne Boucher of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Va. Western, Roanoke, and Radford University, Radford.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Graham of Boones Mill, and Mr. and Mrs. John Hancock, is a graduate of Cave Spring High School, Roanoke, and is employed by Shenandoah Rebuilders.

The newlyweds will live in Salem, Va. after the wedding trip to Myrtle Beach.

Gurley-Norris

The marriage of Miss Jennifer Lynn Norris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dennis Norris of Staunton, to Mr. Joel Stephen Gurley, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Stephen Gurley of Salem, took place Saturday, July 13, at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Staunton. The Reverend John C. Peterson, pastor, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Mr. Jerry Elias Isaac of Memphis, Tennessee, uncle of the bridegroom, was reader. A program of nuptial music was presented by Mr. YuLeee Larner, organist; Mrs. Margaret Pinkston, violinist; Mr. Benjamin Fairfield, trumpeter; and Mrs. Nancy Strobel, vocalist.

The bride wore a formal length sleeveless gown of candlelight handwoven silk. The fitted bodice featured a sabrina neckline and wide cummerbund of shirred silk. Tiny silk covered buttons extended from the V-neck back to the full skirt. Her three-tiered cathedral length veil of illusion was pencil-edged in silk and scattered with pearls. She carried a nosegay of white and cream roses, stephanotis, baby's breath and lemon leaves tied together with french illusion ribbon.

Miss Carrie Beth Norris of Richmond was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Katherine Matteson Schuler of Charlotte, N. C.; Miss Anne Holden Bumgardner of Lexington; Miss Anne Wilson Finley of Richmond; Miss Parthenia Ann Smith of Annapolis, Md.; Miss Jessica Susanne Gurley of Salem, sister of the bridegroom; and Miss Julie Ann Staples of Monterey, cousin of the bride.

Mr. Gurley was his son's best man. The groomsmen were Messrs. James Patrick Whalen and Gary Martin Witzenburg, Jr., of Arlington; Elliot Frank Becker of Richmond; Daniel Christopher King of Roanoke; Philip Michael Norris of Staunton, brother of the bride; and Ryan Jai Couture of Wilmington, N. C., cousin of the bridegroom.

Mrs. Virginia Wetzel directed the wedding.

The bride's parents entertained at a reception and dance at the Holiday Inn in Staunton. Mrs. Charlotte Downing was reception director.

After a wedding trip to Anguilla, British West Indies, the couple will reside in Fredericksburg.

The bride was graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton and Mary Washington College. She is an associate at Carter Ryley Thomas, EPB, Public Relations in Richmon d.

The bridegroom was graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke and Mary Washington College. He is an earth science information specialist with the U. S. Geological Survey in Reston.

Fannin-Ritter

Sandra Wheeler Ritter and James F. Fannin, Jr., were married July 13, 1996, at 7:00 p.m. at Unity Church of Roanoke Valley with Rev. Jim Fisher officiating. Debbie Kane, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Julia Fannin, daughter of the groom, was bridesmaids. Katie Kane, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. Guy Broyles served as best man. The bride was escorted by her sons, Dustin and Jeremy Ritter. Greg Clemens and Mike Olney, friends of the groom, were ushers. The guestbook was attended by Jan Bradford.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin R. Wheeler of Vinton. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School and Virginia Western Community College. She is employed by Shepherds Auto Supply. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Fannin, Sr., of Greensboro, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Northwest Guilford High School and is employed by Advance Auto Parts.

Hart-Oakes

Debra Kay Oakes and Kenneth Gordon Hart, both formerly of Roanoke, were united in marriage Saturday, May 25, at one-thirty o'clock in the afternoon at Cochranton Presbyterian Church in Cochranton, Pennsylvania. The Reverend Tony E. Roberts officiated the double ring ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father. Bouquets of lilies, iris, gladiolus, chrysanthemums, freesia, and Peruvian lilies in bright spring colors graced the altar table, the candelabras, and also enhanced either side of the chancel. Mrs. Janet Heffernan of Cochranton performed classical organ music for the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neil H. (Ruth A.) Oakes of Cochranton. She chose Mrs. Margaret Jarvis Springer of Radford, Virginia, as her matron of honor. Miss Jennifer Mae Oakes, niece of the bride, served as flower girl.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth C. (Betty Jane V.) Hart of Cochranton. He was attended by Mr. Teddy B. Paisley of Roanoke, Virginia, as best man. Mr. Paisley performed a reading of scripture during the ceremony. Mr. Curtis R. Oakes of Cochranton and Mr. Dale A. Oakes of Lake City, Florida, brothers of the bride, served as ushers.

The bride wore a formal afternoon gown of pearl white silk shantung, styled with a ball gown skirt and a chapel-length train. The couture gown was lavishly adorned with hand-beaded imported Venize and Kimiko laces and featured a scalloped, portrait neckline, short bonnet sleeves and a basque waistline. The tiara style headpiece was designed and crafted exclusively for the bride by Melissa Laurie of Victorian Rose Bridals, Raleigh, N.C., from shirred silk shantung and was embellished with Venize lace medallions and pearl clusters with a three-tier, floor length veiling scattered throughout with hand-beaded, Kimiko lace appliques. To complete her ensemble, the bride wore silk satin bridal slippers and also a double strand pearl bracelet given to her by the groom. For good luck, a gold shamrock charm was sewn into the lining of her gown, a gift to the engaged couple from a friend in Ireland. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of fresh white lilies, blush roses, freesia, stephanotis, and miniature variegated ivy.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Franklin Club in Franklin, Pa. The 100 guests were entertained with classical music performed by a string quartet while cocktails and luncheon were served.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Sandalini's Bistro in Meadville, Pa., on Friday evening before the wedding.

The couple enjoyed a Southern honeymoon on Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Savannah, Ga. They are now at home at 1501 Prisma Court, Raleigh, N.C. 27612.

The bride is a graduate of Ray College of Design and Montay College, Chicago, Il., and is employed by Britthaven of Raleigh as a health care administrator. The groom holds a B.S. and an M.B.A. from Gannon University, Erie, Pa., and is employed as an analytical chemist with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture Food and Drug Protection Division.

Johnston-Sowers

Candace LaDonna Sowers and Douglas Wayne Johnston were married on Saturday, July 13, 1996, at Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church in Blacksburg, with Rev. Kenneth Kingrea officiating. Attendants included matron of honor, Nicole Radford; maid of honor, Kelly Linkous; and bridesmaid, Stephanie Williams. Sarah Morris was flower girl. Father of the groom, Odell Johnston, served as best man, with Darrell Sowers, brother of the bride, Kenneth Johnston, and Aaron Altizer as groomsmen. Bill Huff served as usher.

Music was provided by pianist Brenda Brown, and soloists, Susanna Brown, Sarah Brown, and Richard Cone. The guest book was attended by Ashley Altizer, and programs were distributed by Bobbi Montgomery. Joyce Morgan directed the wedding. The bride's parents hosted a reception at Round Meadow Country Club in Christiansburg. Reception hostesses were Judi Kingrea and Donna Nichols. Beverly Chamb erlain served as reception food director. The groom's father hosted a catered rehearsal dinner at Round Meadow Country Club on Friday.

The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Carolyn Sowers of Christiansburg, and is a 1995 graduate of Radford University. The groom, son of Odell Johnston of Eggleston, is a graduate of Giles High School, and is employed at Virginia Tech Printing. Following a honeymoon to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Christiansburg.

Lowman-Dillon

Tammy Marie Dillon and Mark Daniel Lowman were married July 13, 1996, in Virginia Heights Baptist Church in Roanoke, Va. Dr. Daniel E. Scott officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony. Music was provided by Kevin Lamb, organist. The reception was held in the Fitzpatrick Ballroom at The Jefferson Center with entertainment by the band ``Reflections''.

Tammy is the daughter of Ocie R. Dillon and Lenford Everrett Dillon of Rocky Mount, Va. She is a graduate of The University of Virginia and is employed by First Union.

Mark is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Austin Lowman, Sr., of Roanoke, Va. He is a graduate of Radford University and is employed by the Montgomery County School System.

Mitzie Grindstaff of Charlotte, N. C., was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christy Angle, Atlanta, Ga.; Lauren Barkley, Lexington, Ky.; Deb Barrineau, Amy Lowman and Jill Osborn all from Roanoke. Marcia LeMaster of Lynchburg, Va., was the guestbook attendant.

Mr. Samuel Austin Lowman, Sr., father of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Samuel Austin Lowman, Jr., brother of the groom, Roanoke, Va.; Chad Cody, Kingsport, Tenn.; Arnold Frantz, Atlanta, Ga.; Rick Gilliam, Doug Henson, Jeff Hundley, and David Willett all from Roanoke.

The groom's parents entertained the wedding party with dinner at Hunting Hills Country Club on Friday evening. Deb Barrineau hosted the bridal brunch at her home Saturday morning.

Following a trip to Bermuda, the couple will reside in Roanoke.

Maye-Moore

Emily Ellen Moore and Philip Arthur Maye were married on April 20, 1996 in Calvary Episcopal Church in Pittsburgh, Pa. The celebrant was Margaret S. Austin of Pittsburgh, Pa. Donald W. Wilkins of Pittsburgh, Pa. was the organist with additional music provided by Calvary Church Choir. The reception was held in the Benedum Center for Performing Arts' grand foyer.

Jennifer Moore of Roanoke, Va., sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. The matron of honor was Mara Linaberger of Pittsburgh, Pa. The bridesmaids were Josephine Burch and Patricia Martin, both of Pittsburgh, Pa. Kenneth Maye of East Palestine, Ohio, brot her of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Paul Maye of Akron, Ohio, brother of the groom; Chris Moore of Fincastle, Va., brother of the bride; John Manuel of Canton, Ohio, and Eric Goldman of Allentown, Pa. Diana Maye of East Palestine, Ohio, sister-in-law of the groom, and Peter Balfe of Pittsburgh, Pa., were the readers.

The bride wore an Oleg Cassini ``candlelight white'' off-the-shoulder silk dress trimmed with pearls and a cathedral length veil, also trimmed with pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, pink hyacinth and pink and white freesias. The bridesmaids wore emerald green tea length dresses and carried bouquets of daffodils, pink and white roses, and lavender freesias.

Ellen is the daughter of George and Emily Moore of Fincastle, Va. She works at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Phil is the son of Robert and Elizabeth Maye of Akron, Ohio. He works at Parkway Industries, a division or ARC of Allegheny Co.

After a wedding trip to Chautaqua, N.Y., and Toronto, Canada, the couple will reside in Pittsburgh.

Moore-Wengert

Laura Jan Wengert and Jeffrey Alan Moore were married on July 13, 1996, at the University of Richmond's Cannon Memorial Chapel. The Reverend Timothy Wengert, uncle of the bride, officiated.|

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wengert of Madison, Wisconsin. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wengert of Madison, Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Buehler of Port Washington, Wisconsin, and the late Lorena Buehler. A graduate of the University of Richmond, she now works for This End Up Furniture Company.|

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Moore of Blacksburg, Virginia. He is the grandson of Mrs. Mildred Beecher of Blacksburg, Virginia, the late Albert Beecher, Mrs. Doris Moore of Portsmouth, Virginia, the late Emory Moore, and the late Eunice Moore. The groom is also a graduate of the University of Richmond and is currently studying medicine at the Medical College of Virginia.|

The maid of honor was Miss Melissa Hampton. The bridesmaids were Miss Robin Cole; Miss Suzanne Moore, sister of the groom; and Miss Laura Phillips.|

The best men were Mr. Chris Gordon and Mr. Jeff Kenny. Groomsmen were Mr. Jeremy Freeman and Mr. Micah Sayles. Mr. Dennis Callahan and Mr. Thad Wengert, brother of the bride, were ushers.|

Music was provided by organist, Suzanne Bunting. Mr. Paul Wengert, brother of the bride, read the scripture. The reception was held at the Parham Pavilion.

After honeymooning in Flagstaff, Arizona, the couple will reside in Richmond.

Moran-Atkinson

Dr. Sherrie Darlene Atkinson and Michael Lewis Moran of Florence, South Carolina, were married at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 1996, at Truth Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Florence.

The Rev. Darby Welch performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Atkinson of Turbeville, South Carolina. She has a bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in elementary education from Francis Marion University. She also holds a doctor of education degree from Nova Southeastern University. She is employed with the Darlington County School District.|

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Garland Lee Moran of Roanoke, Virginia. He is a graduate of Virginia Western Community College. He holds associate degrees in accounting and management. He is employed with Shaw-Walker of Florence.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Matron of honor was Donnette A. Morris, sister of the bride.

Best man was Paul Moran, brother of the groom.

A reception was held at Red Lobster. The couple will reside in Florence.

Selvia-Jessee

On Saturday, June 29, 1996, Dana Marie Jessee and Mark Lee Selvia were united in marriage in an outdoor wedding ceremony at the home of the bride's grandparents, Tom and Nellie Brown, in Bozoo, West Virginia. Dan Webb, uncle of the bride, officiated.

Dana is the daughter of Louellen Jessee of Roanoke and Dan Jessee of Hardy. Mark is the son of Ben and Patty Selvia of Plainfield, Indiana.|

Jill Jessee, the bride's sister, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Bagby of Staunton, Jenny Wunderlich of Dayton, Ohio, and Michelle Clouser of Salem. Carla Hall, friend of the bride, was flower girl.

Mike Selvia, brother of the groom, from Plainfield, Indiana, was best man. Perry McDorman of Johnson City, Tennessee, Travis Childs of Bloomington, Indiana, and John Bloomer of Rochester, New York, served as groomsmen. Ringbearers were Brandon and Ryan Selvia, nephews of the groom.|

Dana is a graduate of Salem High School and Milligan College. Mark is a graduate of Plainfield High School and Milligan College and is e mployed by Grand Interiors.

Music was provided by Rusty Hall, violinist, Mike Ward, guitarist, and Janeen Webb, aunt of the bride, was soloist.|

Following a trip to Bar Harbor, Maine, the couple will reside in Roanoke.

Snider-Hayden

Betty Marie Hayden and Robert Berkeley Snider were united in marriage April 27, 1996 at Round Oak Baptist Church in Corbin, Va., with the Rev. Randolph Newsome Jr., officiating. The reception was held at the Lee Hill Community Center.

Ms. Beth Miller of Harrisonburg was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Paula Dustin of Corbin; Mrs. Lynda Garner of Woodford, Va., and Ms. Betsy Townsend of Easton, Md. Miss Kaytlyn Thompson of Fredericksburg was the flower girl.

Mr. John W. Snider was his son's best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Mitch Hayden of Woodford, brother of the bride; Mr. Steve Morgan of Roanoke; and Mr. Doug Snider of Cloverdale, brother of the groom. Master Kevin Gordon of Daleville, cousin of the groom, was the ring bearer.

Vocalists were the Rev. Newsome and his wife, B eth, and Mr. Drew Arnn of Dry Fork, Va. Miss Caroline Upshaw of Woodford was the guest book attendant, and her sister, Ann, and brother, James, were the program attendants. Mrs. Donna Brown of Bowling Green, Va., was the mistress of ceremonies.

The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Hayden Sr. of Fredericksburg, is a graduate of Virginia Tech. She is a reporter and editorial assistant at The Roanoke Times.

The groom, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Snider of Sebring, Fla., is also a graduate of Virginia Tech. He is a shift supervisor at Precision Fabrics Group Inc. in Vinton.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Key Largo, Fla. They now live in Cloverdale.

Stoner-Turner

Kathy Sue Turner & Donald Frederick Stoner were married May 25, 1996 at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford, Va. Pastor Jerry Gibson officiated. A reception was held in the fellowship hall. Matron of honor was Cheryl Earles. Bridesmaids were Danyel Lucas, Jody Vance and Terry Graves. Flower girl was Brittany Anders. The best man was Roger Graham. Groomsmen and ushers were John Stoner, J.P. Wikle, Keith Miller and Michael Anders. Ring bearer was Brandon Earles. The bride is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jack R. Turner of Blacksburg, Va. She is employed by Ames Textile Corporation. The groom is the son of Robert F. Stoner of Kinsale, Va. and Carol T. Stoner of Chesterfield, Va. He is employed by DSI Transport Inc. The couple will reside in Christiansburg, Va.

Webb-Whitaker

On Saturday evening June 23, 1996, Zana M. Whitaker of Christiansburg, Va., became the bride of Bernard N. Webb of Boones Mill, Va., at Waters of Life Free Holiness Church, Rogers, Va., with Pastor Henderson F. Woods officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Webb are making their home in Christiansburg, Va.

Wellborn-Mahone

The marriage of Nan Overton Mahone to Dr. William Revere Wellborn III took place June 22, 1996, at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, Sullivan's Island, S. C. The Rev. Peter Mitchell, Associate Rector, officiated. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mahone IV of Roanoke, Va., was given away by her father. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. William Revere Wellborn, Jr., of Lake Lure, N. C. His father was best man. Matron of honor was Elizabeth Long of Greensboro, N. C. Anna Mahone, niece of the bride of Lexington, Va., was flower girl. William Mahone VI, nephew also of Lexington, Va., was ring bearer.

The bride graduated from Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, Va. She is Marketing Director for Health South Central Georgia Rehabilitation Hospital in Macon, Georgia. The groom graduated from North Carolina State University. He holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and recently completed a fellowship in neuropsychology from the Medical College of South Carolina. He is employed as Director of Psychology at Health South Central Georgia Rehabilitation Hospital in Macon, Ga.

The reception was held in the garden of 75 King St., Charleston, S. C. After a honeymoon in the North Carolina Highlands, the couple will live in Macon, Ga.

Wetherington-Wallace

Katherine Osborne Wallace and Donald Lynn Wetherington were married on May 4, 1996 at Fincastle Presbyterian Church in Fincastle, Virginia. Officiating the ceremony were the Rev. Dr. T. Eugene Carter and the Rev. Robert D. Smith. A reception was held at Butternut Farm in Botetourt County where the couple plan to live.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Mr. William Paul Wallace, Jr. of Roanoke. The maid of honor was Ms. Ann Wallace Glover of Los Angeles, Ca., sister of the bride. Other attendees were Mrs. William Paul Wallace, Jr. of Roanoke, sister-in-law of the bride; Miss Emily Kate Wallace of Roanoke, niece of the bride; Miss Ann Laura Wetherington of Santa Cruz, Ca., and Miss Elizabeth Clare Wetherington of Roanoke, both daughters of the groom.

The best man was Mr. Joseph Cole Wetheri ngton of Reno, Nevada, son of the groom. The usher was Mr. Matthew Harrison Wallace of Roanoke, nephew of the bride. Miss Susan Stuart Wallace of Richmond, sister of the bride, accompanied the organist during the ceremony. The bride is a daughter of the late Mr. William Paul Wallace and Mrs. William Paul Wallace of Roanoke. She attended Hollins College and Virginia Commonwealth University and is a graphic designer with Katie Wallace Design in Roanoke.

The bridegroom is a son of the late Mr. Vernon Legrand Wetherington and Mrs. Floyd Lauterbach of Jasper, Florida. He practices law with Wetherington, Melchionna, Terry, Day & Ammar in Roanoke.

Worley-Cahill

Julie Renee Cahill and John Norman Worley were married June 29, 1996, in Green Ridge Baptist Church, Roanoke, Va., with Dr. J. Michael Palmer, Pastor, officiating. The reception was held in the fellowship hall at the church. The maid of honor was Iris Womack, best friend of bride. Bridesmaids were Penny Hutton, Beth Kelley, Vickie Walkers, Joyce Hendricks, friends of bride, and Elizabeth King, sister of groom. Ronald C. Worley, father of groom, served as best man. Ushers were Scott Brown, Tony Scott, Staley Hutton, friends of groom, Patrick Worley, brother of groom, and Stephen King, brother-in-law of groom. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after a wedding trip to Washington, D. C.
