Town police are sponsoring a local program, in conjunction with "National Night Out," designed to encourage neighborhood watches and for people to show their support in the fight to prevent crime.
On Aug. 6 the Christiansburg Police Department Neighborhood Watch will ask residents to gather in their neighborhoods during the early evening hours. Many groups have activities planned for the evening.
