bell still rests where it fell from the tower during the fire that

destroyed the church on Jefferson Street Northwest. The bell was

uncovered from the ashes whole, but fell apart during an attempt to

remove it. The clapper was still attached to the bell. 2. At left,

Alan Amos Demolition Co. worker Lonnie Reynolds (left) calls for

heavy equipment to help him and worker Jim Quesenberry remove the

First Baptist Bell from the ashes. First Baptist trustees John
