The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down Monday evening in the Bedford area.
Weather service officials went to the area to assess the damage and determined that at least one tornado did touch down.
In Bedford, 14 buildings were damaged and utilities were disrupted. Damage in the city is believed to be as much as $200,000.
The high winds damaged two houses, a barn and a garage in Bedford County, where damage was put at $100,000.
No one was injured.
