Stewart Hubbell, vice president of the Roanoke engineering firm Mattern and Craig Inc., said he would be disappointed if his firm is not involved in engineering work for the Botetourt Center at Greenfield, but his company would not pursue litigation in the matter.
In a story on Wednesday's Business page, Botetourt County Attorney William "Buck" Heartwell expressed concern that the Board of Supervisors may have exposed itself to litigation when it chose to enter negotiations with a Fincastle company instead of Mattern and Craig. A search committee had recommended the Roanoke company for the job.
