ROANOKE STILL WINNING IN EUROPE

Michael Stoeckle and Aaron Pellit scored two goals each as the Roanoke Star Under-15 team defeated Sport Freunde Katernberg of Essen, Germany 7-0 in a match Saturday in Germany.

David Wilson, Landon Moore and Nathan Thomas also scored goals for Roanoke (7-0-1).

Last weekend, the Star became the first American team to ever win the Sulln Football Summer Cup in Sulln, Germany. The Star defeated F.V. Offenhausen 4-0, Kircheiner, S.C., 3-0 and Munich F.C. 1-0 in the championship game.

The Roanoke Star U-16 girls' team, which is also competing in Europe, downed Grun-weiss Schonbeck from Essen, Germany 4-0 as Erin D'Allesandro and Annie Eure each scored twice.

Both teams leave Germany today and travel to Hjorring, Denmark, to begin competition in the Dana Cup.
