A 50-year-old road construction worker from Tennessee was seriously injured Monday when her roller vehicle went out of control and rolled over her.
Marie Osborne was taken to Wythe County Community Hospital and flown by helicopter to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit.
The roller was being used to prepare for paving work on Virginia 661 in the Fairview section of Wythe County.
State Police Sgt. D.M. Honaker said the roller hit an unoccupied tanker truck and overturned.
