BLACKSBURG TO FLUSH HYDRANTS

The Blacksburg public works department will be flushing fire hydrants starting next week. Hydrants on the west side of town will be flushed on Monday and July 30, while the east side will have the work done on July 31 and Aug. 1.

There may be minor discoloration in the water for a 24-hour period after the flushing, which is only an indication water is being stirred up. The public works department recommends residents refrain from doing white laundry if you notice any discoloration of the water. No harmful contaminates are in the water.
