A couple's late-night sex fantasy didn't turn out as they planned after firefighters discovered a naked woman by the side of a busy county road and arrested her boyfriend for drunken driving.
The pair planned to act out a fantasy in which the 23-year-old woman posed as a naked hitchhiker, Prince William County police said Wednesday.
Christopher John Barbour, 35, of Fredericksburg dropped his girlfriend by the side of Davis Ford Road about 11:30 p.m. Monday, police said. Barbour planned to drive around the block and pick her back up, police said.
``They were home watching an adult movie when they got the idea,'' police spokeswoman Kim Chinn said.
The fantasy unraveled when the woman mistook another motorist for Barbour, and darted into the road, Chinn said.
``She jumped out there with no clothes on and her thumb out,'' Chinn said.
The woman motorist went immediately to a fire station around the corner and reported the incident. Firefighters got to the scene before Barbour did, police said.
``They were trying to find out if she was OK, and she was very embarrassed, trying to explain,'' Chinn said.
Barbour arrived moments later, but so did police.
Police gave the woman a hospital gown to wear while an officer interviewed the pair, Chinn said.
``They didn't even bring any clothes in his car,'' she said.
The couple repeatedly asked to leave, but police wanted to make sure she was in no danger.
Barbour was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and with refusing to take a blood alcohol or Breathalyzer test. He faces suspension or revocation of his driver's license.
Barbour was released on $500 bond. His telephone is unlisted.
His girlfriend, who lives in Lake Ridge, was not charged. Police would not release her name.
