Virginia Christine, a character actress best known as the motherly Mrs. Olson on Folger's coffee commercials, died at her home Wednesday of heart complications. She was 76.
Christine performed in more than 400 films and television productions. and made her motion picture debut with Errol Flynn in the 1943 movie, ``Edge of Darkness.''
Her movie credits include ``Guess Who's Coming to Dinner,'' ``Cyrano de Bergerac,'' and ``High Noon.'' ``Judgment at Nuremberg'' and ``Invasion of the Body Snatchers.'' On TV, she appeared in ``Gunsmoke,'' ``Bonanza'' and ``Twilight Zone.'', likable to young married couples simply them a cup of ``mountain-grown'' Folger's.
The actress was born Virginia Kraft, in Stanton, Iowa, in 1920. In 1940 she married actor Fritz Feld, who died in 1993.
