COLLEGE NOTES

ANN M. DEVERTER, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John S. DeVerter of Roanoke, recently received a master of science degree in human nutrition, food and exercise from Virginia Tech.

LAURIE MCGHEE, daughter of Sam and Sara McGhee of Roanoke, recently received Virginia Tech's College of Forestry and Wildlife Resources' Outstanding Student Award. She was selected for her exceptional academic, extracurricular and professional leadership.

McGhee recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a major in forestry resource management.

AVERETT COLLEGE in Danville has announced the names of its graduates from the Roanoke area.

Those from Roanoke receiving bachelor of business administration degrees are: Jerry Barnett Jr., Connie Bierly, Amelia Clark, Patricia Epperly, William Fitzgibbon, Curtis Garner Jr., John Gurley, Henry Meeh, Melissa Overstreet, Robert Sperka, Kenneth Spicer III and Nancy Spillman.

Others reveiving bachelor of business administration degrees are: Barry Parr, Salem; and Thomas Beheler Jr., Vinton.

Those from Roanoke receiving master of business administration degrees are: Geraldine Barber, Michelle Blankenship-Taylor, George Childress, Paul Gabbert, Melissa Loveday, John Myers III, Donald Price, Al Taylor, Michael Vanover and Douglas Wolter.

Those from Salem receiving master of business administration degrees are Daniel Crouse and Linda Foster.

CLAIRE D. CAROTHERS of Roanoke recently received the A.S. Huffman Award from Northeast Louisiana University. The A.S. Huffman Award honors physical education majors who exhibit academic excellence and active athletic participation.

Carothers is a senior majoring in physical education.

JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY in Harrisonburg recently announced the names of its Roanoke-area graduates.

Those receiving a bachelor of science degree are Rachel Comer, Gregory Cooper and Teresa Saunders, all of Roanoke; Gwendolyn Hoskins, Kimberly Jones and Tonya King, all of Salem; Lori Alexander and Christian Ramsey, both of Buchanan; and James Johnson of Vinton.

Those receiving a bachelor of arts degree are Holly Burton and Christopher Walker, both of Roanoke.

Those receiving a bachelor of business administration degree are: Christopher Chambers, Paul Famularo, Bradley Farrar and Timothy St. Clair, all of Roanoke; and Michael Felton of Troutville.
