Convicted pedophile to stay in jail
FAIRFAX - A youth league baseball coach charged with assaulting a 13-year-old boy is a sexual predator who should remain in jail, a prosecutor said Friday.
A Fairfax County judge denied a request from Michael E. Robinson that his $100,000 bond be reduced.
Robinson, 42, of Springfield, was charged this week with misdemeanor assault for what police described as ``inappropriate touching.''
The charge carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
Robinson is a convicted pedophile who sexually assaulted two 12-year-old boys in 1984, court records show.
Robinson surrounded himself with teen-agers, through his coaching job and by hiring young men for his carpet cleaning business, prosecutor Ray Morrogh said.

Disability center invites Dole to visit
FISHERSVILLE - Students at the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center have invited Republican presidential hopeful Bob Dole to pay a visit.
The center's student council issued the invitation to Dole, who lost the use of his right hand in World War II.
``We're not as interested in him as a Republican presidential candidate. We're interested because of his disability,'' said Dell Philpott, a center staff member and aide to the student council.
According to Philpott, Dole's office said the former senator would visit, or at least send a representative, hopefully by the end of the summer.

House with 48 dogs declared unsafe
PRINCE GEORGE - A house where authorities say three people and 48 dogs were living amid animal feces up to 3 inches deep has been declared unsafe for occupancy.
Leokadia Worten was ordered Thursday to have the house undergo a thorough cleaning before anyone moves back in. She has temporarily moved into a hotel.
According to a letter signed by Dr. Edwin Brown, Crater Health District director, investigators noted an accumulation of animal feces, rats living on the property and offensive odors.
``No one can live in it until it's cleaned up,'' said Prince George Commonwealth's Attorney Martin Robertson.
