A former soap opera actress charged with trying to hire a hit man to kill her husband has been taken off suicide watch at the Augusta County Jail, a spokesman said Monday.
A representative of the mental health office of the Valley Community Services Board in Staunton determined that Catherine Ann Christianson of Churchville was not suicidal, Lt. John Greco said. Christianson, who once had a role on ABC-TV's ``One Life to Live,'' was arrested Wednesday. Commonwealth's Attorney Raymond Robertson said Friday she was put in isolation and ``watched very carefully.''
Christianson is accused of offering $20,000 to a police informant to shoot her husband, Rick Chittum. Police say the encounter was taped Wednesday morning.
