An 18-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint in the Valley View Mall parking lot Saturday night. He was not injured.
About 9:45 p.m., a man approached James Joseph Farren of Northwest Roanoke and tried to start a conversation, police said. The man then walked behind Farren, held a knife to his back and demanded money. Farren gave the robber $57. The robber then fled.

About 4 p.m. in Salem, a man approached Charles Dennis Floyd of Southwest Roanoke and asked if Floyd wanted to buy a TV and VCR. The man then took Floyd to the Roanoke-Salem Plaza in the 4000 block of Melrose Avenue Northwest. Floyd was brought to a car with four other men. As he looked at the items in the car trunk, he was hit from behind and robbed of $101. He suffered a bruise to the back of his head.
A 45-year-old man was stabbed and robbed at knifepoint early Saturday in Southwest Roanoke.
Police said Jeffrey Crawford was sleeping behind a building in the 300 block of Mountain Avenue. About 8:40 a.m., he was awakened by being stabbed in the right shoulder.
He saw two men standing over him, and one of them demanded his money. A knife was held to Crawford's throat while the men took $22 and a portable radio, police said. The robbers then fled.
Crawford was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and released.
