LONGWOOD COLLEGE has announced the following names of students from the Roanoke area who were selected to the dean's list for the spring semester.
Carrie Diane Brown, Mark Daniel Mast, Marcie Lynn McGuire, Ronnie Terrell Milam, Michelle Leigh Noell, Tracey Nicole Setliff, Jayne Kathleen Sinclair and Julie Lynn Wood, all from Roanoke.
From Salem: Jennifer Nicole Hall, Wendy Leigh Kuehn, Brandan Grey Roseberry and James Castleton Soltis.
Also named were Deana Brooke Pinion from Troutville and Heather Mangels from Blue Ridge.
ABIGAIL LEIGH PACK of Roanoke received a master of arts degree in music from the University of Iowa in May.
BRYN F. HUDGINS of Vinton graduated this year from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor of arts degree in human services.
She is the daughter of John and Karen Hudgins and a 1991 graduate of William Byrd High School.
ERNEST CLARK JR. was named to the dean's honor list for the spring quarter at Cedarville College (Ohio), where he is a Bible major.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Clark of Roanoke, and is a 1994 graduate of Roanoke Valley Christian Schools.
ELIZABETH PAIGE ADAMS of Salem is a May 1996 graduate of the University of North Florida.
CARLTON EUGENE SPINNER earned a master of education degree from Virginia Commonwealth University this summer.
He is a 1991 graduate of Glenvar High School in Salem, and is the son of Barbara and Alpha Bangura of Roanoke.
LIANA DENISE ROBINSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael L. Robinson of Roanoke, recently received a bachelor of arts degree in history from Hood College in Frederick, Md. Liana is a 1992 graduate of Northside High School.
JOSEPH COLEMAN LAWRENCE of Roanoke recently received a master of business administration from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
GERARD FRANCIS BOMMARITO of Roanoke recently received a bachelor of science in biology from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol.
ANN M. DEVERTER, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John S. DeVerter of Roanoke, recently received a master of science degree in human nutrition, food and exercise from Virginia Tech.
LAURIE MCGHEE, daughter of Sam and Sara McGhee of Roanoke, recently received Virginia Tech's College of Forestry and Wildlife Resources' Outstanding Student Award. She was selected for her exceptional academic, extracurricular and professional leadership.
McGhee recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a major in forestry resource management.
AVERETT COLLEGE in Danville has announced the names of its graduates from the Roanoke area.

CLAIRE D. CAROTHERS of Roanoke recently received the A.S. Huffman Award from Northeast Louisiana University. The A.S. Huffman Award honors physical education majors who exhibit academic excellence and active athletic participation.
Carothers is a senior majoring in physical education.
JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY in Harrisonburg recently announced the names of its Roanoke-area graduates.
