HOSPITALMAN RECRUIT BRETT H. ZIMMERMAN, son of Eric R. and Ann Zimmerman of Roanoke, recently graduated from the Basic Hospital Corps School at Naval Hospital Corps in Great Lakes, Ill.

ARMY PVT. JUSTIN W. STORES, son of Wayne D. and Brenda S. Stores of Roanoke, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox in Radcliff, Ky.

He is a 1993 graduate of Salem High School.

ARMY SPEC. RUSSELL T. FARRIS, son of Barbara F. Noel of Roanoke and Russell Farris of Salem, has deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina to provide security for allied forces.

He is a military police specialist assigned to the 92nd Military Company, normally stationed in Baumholder, Germany.

Farris is a 1992 graduate of Northside High School.

PFC. KEVIN PEERY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald R. Peery of Buchanan, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C. He also was promoted to his present rank.

Peery is a 1995 graduate of James River High School.

AIRMAN DANIEL T. McSHERRY, son of Margarette E. and Thomas O. McSherry of Vinton, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

McSherry is a 1993 graduate of William Byrd High School.

AIRMAN JOHNATHON R. CRAWFORD, son of Walton L. Crawford of New Castle and Marie L. McCarthy of Cloverdale, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Crawford is a 1995 graduate of Craig County High School.

AIRMAN MARK E. RUMENSKY, son of Christine M. Rumensky of Roanoke, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Rumensky is a 1995 graduate of Northside High School.

CHARLES E. WATERS, son of Douglas C. and Mary L. Waters of Roanoke, has been commissioned as a second lieutenant through the Army Reserve Officer's Training Corps program, after having earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Richmond.

Waters is a 1992 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.

SPC. MICHELLE R. MOORE AND STAFF SGT. JAMES L. DRAPER, were recently honored by the Roanoke-based 229th Chemical Company of the Virginia Army National Guard. Moore was selected as Soldier of the Quarter, and Draper was named Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter. These honors are awarded to recognize soldiers who excel in attitude, appearance, job skills and knowledge.

JOHN C. GIBSON JR., son of Priscilla Welch of Salem and John C. Gibson Sr. of Roanoke, graduated from basic training. He is enlisted in the Virginia National Guard.

MARINE PFC. JAMES K. WOOD, son of Linda D. Wood of Roanoke, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego and was promoted to his present rank.

Wood is a 1992 graduate of William Fleming High School.

SEAMAN RECRUIT DEON J. ROYER, son of Joyce V. Royer of Roanoke, recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

SEAMAN RECRUIT JUDITH R. HICKS, daughter of Leonard L. and Karen V. Hicks of Vinton, recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Hicks is a 1994 graduate of Northside High School.

AIRMAN SELINA L. HAMBLIN, daughter of Victoria H. Grice of Roanoke, recently graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Hamblin is a 1995 graduate of William Fleming High School.

LANCE CPL. CHARLES G. DAVIS, son of Faye D. Hendrick of Vinton, was recently promoted to his present rank while serving with First Combat Engineer Battalion, First Marine Division, Marine Corps Base in Camp Pendleton, Calif.

He is a 1995 graduate of William Fleming High School.

PVT. CINDY DAWN RAYNOR of Roanoke recently completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. and is stationed at Fort Lee for AIT training. Raynor, a graduate of William Fleming High School, is the daughter of Linda Ashby and David Neal.
