BETA CHI OMEGA CHAPTER OF ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY recently awarded scholarships to Roanoke-area graduates. The awards are based on students' academic achievement and school and community activities. The winners are: Kim Nicole Chambers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge W. Chambers, Virginia Western Community College; Brandy Perlina Jernigan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jernigan, Old Dominion University; Kianna Marini Price, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Price, University of Richmond; Kia Lillian Pearl Sherman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sherman, Winston-Salem State University; Roderick Morris Tasco, son of Carolyn Tasco and the late Stanley Tasco, Bridgton Academy; Raki Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wright, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Taharee Webb, daughter of Richard Earl Webb Sr. and Diana Mack, received the Hattie Austin Scholarship, based on academic merit and financial need. She will attend Harvard University in the fall.
