Fall Classic tourney seeks players
The fifth annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament will be held at the Hanging Rock Golf Club in Salem on Sept. 13. The entry fee is $55 per player or $200 per team.
Prizes include a Saturn SLI car and a round-trip ticket for two to anywhere in the continental United States or the Caribbean. The tournament benefits scholarship and education programs, capital improvement and chamber work within the community.

MDA's Poker Run set for Sept. 7
The 14th annual MDA Roanoke Valley Harley-Davidson Poker Run to benefit "Jerry's Kids" will be held Sept. 7.
The ride will begin at the Roanoke Valley Harley-Davidson Dealership on Peters Creek Road and finish at Kiwanis Field in Salem. Entertainment, field events, and a bike show will be held after the ride.
Proceeds benefit local families living with one of 40 neuromuscular diseases covered by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
