When CNN analyzed an attack ad against Sen. Paul Wellstone, D-Minn., and found it misleading and ``way off the mark,'' his supporters couldn't have said it better themselves.
That's why the latest Democratic commercial is the CNN ``ad watch'' piece in its entirety, a move that has so angered Cable News Network that it has demanded the two-minute ad be pulled.
``They have no right to run our material in a commercial way without our permission, and we would certainly not grant that permission,'' said Steve Haworth, vice president of the Atlanta-based CNN.
Haworth called the state Democratic Party's use of the ad ``copyright infringement'' and refused to speculate on what might be done if the ad isn't pulled.
State Democrats, who bought about $40,000 worth of commercial time to run the ad, say they have no plans to comply. -Associated Press
