THERE WAS NO PARKING AT THE BANK

Police have arrested two men in connection with a bank robbery after the en allegedly parked their getaway vehicle too far from the bank for a quick getaway and were unsuccessful in finding another car.

Authorities on Friday charged Kevin Robert Williams, 20, and Michale Harrington, 33, both of Petersburg, with armed robbery, possession of a firearm in a felony and carjacking.

According to Chesterfield County police, the two robbed a First Union Bank branch Friday afternoon. They realized they hadn't parked their getaway car close enough for a clean getaway, so they tried to steal a bank customer's car. There was not enough room in the car, however, for both men because it was filled with coolers and other material.

Thwarted, the two fled on foot and were quickly captured in a nearby woods.

Police would only say that the original getaway car was parked ``some distance away'' from the bank.
