ALLEN WON'T SPEAK AT GOP CONVENTION

Gov. George Allen won't be among the 10 governors asked by the Republican National Committee to address the Republican National Convention, his spokesman said.

Instead, Allen will be one of several caucus chairmen on behalf of the Dole campaign at the convention next week in San Diego.

Allen at one point was scheduled to speak, but the convention decided to focus on nonelected ``regular'' people, Allen's press secretary, Ken Stroupe, said.
