Virginia, speaks Monday to a crowd in the company's new

manufactured-housing plant in Franklin County-Rocky Mount Industrial

Park. The $7.1 million facility is the company's second in Rocky

Mount. Fleetwood is a unit of a Riverside, Calif.-based producer of

mobile homes and recreational vehicles. The company has said the new

plant, which will employ more than 200 people, will allow it to

double production, from 60 to 120 homes a week. Fleetwood, which has

had operations in Franklin County for 28 years, employs 280 at its

first plant in Rocky Mount. Mod-U-Kraf Homes, another

manufactured-home producer in Rocky Mount, opened its expanded plant

in the industrial park last month.
