Tickets for the 24th Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, the NCAA Division III football championship, will go on sale Monday, August 12th. The Stagg Bowl will make its fourth appearance at Salem Stadium on Dec.14.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for high school students and younger. They can be purchased by calling (800) 288-2122 or the Salem Civic Center box office at (540) 375-3004.
The first champion crowned in Salem, Mount Union (Ohio) and last year's winner, Wisconsin-La Crosse, are favored to make the playoffs again this season, according to preseason polls.

* K.J. Hippensteel pulled off a big upset in the fourth round of the National Tennis Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The 14-year-old Roanoker defeated third-seeded Andrew Park 6-7, 6-4, 6-3. Park, from San Marino, Calif., was a finalist in last year's tournament.
On Monday, Hippensteel defeated Brian Barki of Oklahoma City, Okla., 6-3, 6-2.
Today, he will face Steven Moros, an unseeded player from Sarasota, Fla.
* The University of Virginia men's soccer team has been picked No.1 in the nation by College Sports magazine. UVa's women's soccer team was ranked eighth.
UVa was one of 11 schools whose men's and women's teams were ranked in both polls. In addition to team honors, senior midfielder and 1995 Hermann Trophy winner Mike Fisher was named to the preseason All-America team.
ACC foes Duke, North Carolina, Maryland and Clemson joined the men's team in the top nine of the men's poll. There were six ACC teams in the women's top 20.
