COLLEGE NOTES

REBECCA KATRINA SHERMAN, daughter of Bob and Beckie Sherman of Roanoke, recently received a master's degree in education/audiology from James Madison University. Sherman is a graduate of Cave Spring High School.

THEODORE GRIESENBROCK of Roanoke was named to the dean's list at the National Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, N.Y.

RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE has named several Roanoke-area students to its spring semester dean's list. They are:

Julia Slemp, Alan Ramsey, Aimee Beightol, James Spede, Amanda Crowgey and William Massello.

VALERIE COFFEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Giles Coffey of Roanoke, received a bachelor of arts degree in English literature and theater from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa.

MIA WEBB FITTZ of Roanoke recently received a master of science degree from Virginia Tech.

ELIZABETH SICORA of Roanoke has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C.

D. SCOTT BOWERS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew J. Greer of Salem, has been named to the dean's list at Milligan College in Tennessee.

JAMES M. AMORE of Roanoke was recently named to the dean's list at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tenn.

ELIZABETH WEDEMEYER of Roanoke has been named to the dean's list for the second semester at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

REBECCA MOORE, daughter of Thomas and Ann Moore of Roanoke, has been named a recipient of the Aycock scholarship at Campbell University in North Carolina.

TROY ANDERSON of Roanoke has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Eastern New Mexico University.

CATHERINE PILCHER BRADSHAW, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Bradshaw of Roanoke, has been named to the dean's list for the 1996 spring semester at the University of Richmond.

KRISTINE LYNN GARREN, daughter of Kenneth and Sheila Garren of Salem, received a master of arts degree in counseling education from Virginia Tech. She is a 1990 graduate of Roanoke College.

MAURIE LANE CLARK KNUPPEL, daughter of Elton and Shirley Clark of Roanoke, received a doctorate in special education from Virginia Tech. She graduated from Kansas University in 1987, and received a master of arts from Virginia Tech in 1992. Knuppel plans to work as a counselor.

TRACI HESS of Roanoke has earned Virginia Tech's Cunningham Fellowship to continue her work toward a doctoral degree. Hess received her master's degree in accounting information systems from Virginia Tech this spring.

JENNIFER BROOKE MARTIN, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Stacey IV of Roanoke, received a bachelor of science degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

SUSAN F. LYNCH of Roanoke received a bachelor of science degree in liberal studies from Regents College, The University of the State of New York.

RADFORD UNIVERSITY recently announced the names of Roanoke-area students who have been named to the spring semester's dean list.

WILLIAMS COLLEGE in Williamstown, Mass., awarded bachelor of arts degrees to the following area students: Amy L. Woodward, daughter of Marty and Henry Woodward of Salem; and Seddon Y. Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace B. Thomas of Roanoke.

KELLY LYNN BAETZ of Roanoke received a bachelor of arts degree from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.

ELON COLLEGE in North Carolina has named the following Roanoke area students to its spring semester president's list: Kimberly Kristin Stewart, daughter of Betty V. Stewart, and Benjamin Thomas Gold, son of Sandra S. Gold.

The following Roanoke students were named to the school's spring semester dean's list: Lori Marie Ungerer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Ungerer; Fara Elizabeth Gibson, daughter of Carole J. Gibson; and Erin Thyme Jamieson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Jamieson.

WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY has named the following Roanoke area students to its spring semester dean's list: Mary Caroline Barritt, Ashley Lauren Berry, David Arthur Kunkle, Angela Dawn McElreath, Kathleen Hathaway Vance and Ronald Raymond Vance Jr.

GREENSBORO (N.C.) COLLEGE has named several area students to its spring semester dean's list. They are: Haley Ann Hartzog, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hartzog of Roanoke; Mary-Margaret Beth McCann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. McCann of Roanoke; and John Jenail Andrews, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Andrews of Vinton.

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY COLLEGE has named the following Roanoke-area students to its dean's list: Jeremy D. Graybill, son of Robin P. Brindle; Thomas Bryan Tims, son of Dr. and Mrs. Roger Tims; Clay Buchanan Persinger, son of Andrea J. Becker and Frank Persinger; William C. Bundy Jr., son of William and Patricia Bundy; Mark E. KAREN MICHELLE RICE, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Rice of Roanoke, has been awarded a bachelor of arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Rice was also named to the spring semester dean's list.

EMILY K. RAKES, daughter of Kathy Speese-Rakes and Jeff Rakes of Roanoke, has been named to the spring semester dean's list at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington.

Rakes is a 1994 graduate of Cave Spring High School.
