THE AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION recently awarded three Roanoke area students the Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools "Excellence in Psychology" Outstanding Student award. The students are: Trivett Wingo, Cave Spring High School; Brad M. Rea, Glenvar High School; and Abbie Stiff, William Byrd High School.

This award is given to high school students who have shown exemplary achievements in the study of psychology.

SARAH LaGIER of Roanoke graduated from Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Conn., and was named to the second semester honor roll. She also received the Alice Hamilton Award for excellence in science. The award is given in honor of Hamilton, a graduate of the school and a chemist, who was the first woman on the faculty of Harvard Medical School.

THE ROANOKE EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE FOUNDATION recently named two arts students winners of scholarships from its David Roller Memorial Scholarship Fund. They are Kinsey Holder, a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, and Alexis Brown, a William Fleming High School graduate.

Holder, daughter of Thomas and Mary Stuart Link, will continue her art studies at James Madison University.

Brown, son of Rev. Terrance L. Brown and Leslie S. Brown, will continue his studies in architecture at Virginia Western Community College.
