PROSTITUTES GET PRISON TERMS AFTER STEALING

Two prostitutes who stole from a man who had befriended them have been sentenced to prison terms.

Patricia Jaret, 39, and Patricia Robins, 31, both of no fixed address, were convicted Wednesday of grand larceny and possession of methamphetamine.

They were charged with stealing more than $9,065 worth of property from Ted Slagle of Fredericksburg.

Fredericksburg Circuit Judge William Ledbetter Jr. sentenced Robins to 18 months in prison. Jaret got a year and two months.

Slagle told police that he thought Jaret and Robins were stranded travelers when he let them stay in his home this winter.

But when he came home from work March 26, the women - and much of his property - were gone. Among the items stolen were camera equipment, fishing gear, knives and clothes.

City police found some of items at a local pawn shop. The rest were recovered from a Stafford County motel where the two women were arrested.
