ARGABRIGHT, Margaret Ellen Dye, 68, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, August 13, 1996. Mrs. Argabright was retired from Carilion Health Systems (Roanoke Memorial Hospital). Born in Salem, Mo., she was preceded in death by her mother, Eunice Carty Dye; and father, Donald E. Dye Sr. Surviving are sons, W. David Argabright, Roanoke, and Mark D. Argabright, Charlotte, N.C.; also, brother, Donald E. Dye Jr., Roanoke. Funeral arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel will be private. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.

AYERS, Tony Ray, 41, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, August 13, 1996. He was employed with JB Plumbing. Surviving are his wife, Kathy Marie Ayers; two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lisa Thor ne, and David Young, all of Roanoke; daughter, Betty Young, Roanoke; grandson, Michael Scott Thorne; mother, Evelyn Jane Moore, Roanoke; brother, William Moore, Christiansburg; two sisters, Janet Carr, Christiansburg, Debbie Goines, Wytheville; a close friend, Dale Sink, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Friday, August 16, 1996 at Lotz Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. Michael Conn and the Rev. Wayne C. Harrison officiating. JEWELL, Rev. James M., 93, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, August 12, 1996, in Meadowbrook Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, at the Christiansburg Pentecostal Holiness Church conducted by Rev. David Bain, Rev. Richard Kingrea, Rev. Edward Wood, and Rev. Jack Perdue, with burial in the Virginia Pentecostal Holiness Conference Cemetery, Dublin. Arrangements are being handled by the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.

KEESLING, Mary Rose Caulfield, of Roanoke, born in Ireland August 22, 1923. She went to be with Lord Monday, August 12, 1996 after a brief battle with Cancer. She was retired from Gen eral Electric Company and was a member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church for over 50 years. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John E. Keesling Jr.; her son, John P. Keesling; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna K. and Roger Smith; Kathleen K. and Thomas Malone, all of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Patricia Keesling, Kevin, David and Stacie Smith, John T. Malone; two sisters, Ellen Jane Heaney, Ireland; Kathleen Todd, England. She also leaves behind her little dog Pokey, who she dearly loved. Graveside services will be a the Evergreen Burial Park 11 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 1996 with the Rev. Kenneth Stofft officiating. LEE, Gertrude Henderson, 60, of Manhattan, New York, died Sunday, August 11, 1996. Arrangements by Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan.

LONG, Rev. Wilford E., 79, of Roanoke County, died Tuesday, August 13, 1996. Rev. Long had a been a minister in this area for over 40 years, during which time he had an active radio ministry over WKBA Radio. He was also instrumental in the construction of several churches. Rev. Long was also a wel l known farmer in the Cave Spring area. Surviving is his wife, Marie G. Long; a daughter, Anita L. Wood, Alexandria, Va.; grandson and wife, Billy and Tamar Wood, Roanoke; brothers and sisters, Ralph Long, Thomas Long and Elizabeth Hall, all of Salem, Virginia Clark, Richmond, Daisy Fisher, Danville and Ida Mae Karns, Goodview. Services will be conducted from Oakey's South Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 1996. Fellow ministers will officiate. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday

MILLS, Mary Elizabeth, 67, of Bedford, died Tuesday, August 13, 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Mills, and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Paul E. Mills, Blue Ridge, W. Wayne and Karen Mills, Roanoke, and W. Robert Mills; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Rigney, Danville, Sandra and Peter Snelling, Bedford, Janice and Lance Kirtley, Roanoke; brothers, Owen H. Hall Jr., Raymond L. Hall and Lawrence R. Hall, all of Roanoke; sister, Shelby Perdue, Wirtz; and fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel with burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. PUCKETT, Archie B., 87, of Roanoke, died Monday, August 12, 1996. Mr. Puckett was a member of Sandy Valley Masonic Lodge #17, Grundy, Va., and was a retired welder from the United Mine Workers. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Laura Rife Puckett; his son, Daniel L. Puckett, Ashland, Ky.; his daughters, Frances E. Puckett, Roanoke, Rowena P. Perry, Oak Hill, W.Va., Shirley P. Mooney, Raleigh, N.C.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon L. Puckett, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel Thursday, August 15, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Barnes officiating. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park, with a masonic graveside service conducted by Virginia Heights Masonic Lodge #324. SWARTZ, William Perry Jr., 84, of Titusville, Fla., passed away Monday morning, August 12, 1996. Mr. Swartz was the son of the late William Perry Swartz and Elva Blanche Worrell Swartz of Dayton. He had been a resident of Roanoke since 1936, and also maintained a home in Titusville, Fla. As the originator of Swartz Enterprises of Roanoke, he developed Swartz and Company and Roanoke Photo Finishing, as well as additional ventures during his years in Roanoke. He was a member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church in Roanoke, and of Indian River City United Methodist Church in Titusville. He was active in the Order of St. Luke, the Gideons, and Habitat for Humanity in Titusville. Surviving are his wife, Suelle McK. Swartz of Roanoke; two sons, William Swartz III of Titusville, and Gene Swartz of Roanoke; two daughters, Anne Simmons of Front Royal, and Suelle Swartz of Atlanta. Also surviving are eight grandchildren. There will be a memorial service at Indian River City United Methodist Church in Titusville, Fla. on Wednesday, August 14, at 3 p.m., and a second memorial service at Raleigh Court United Methodist Church in Roanoke on Sunday, August 18, at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity. North Brevard Funeral Home of Titusville, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.

VICOLI, Rena Carolina, 91, of Roanoke died Tuesday, August 13, 1996. Arrangements by Lotz Roanoke Chapel.

WRIGHT, Glovenia Dossie, (``Missy''), 90, of Roanoke, formerly of Stewartsville, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 1996. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.

WRIGHT, Louise Williams, 82, of Wytheville, died Tuesday, August 13, 1996, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and was the daughter of the late Emmett and Maude Poole Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbu r ``Peck'' Wright. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. E. Thomas and Patricia Wright of Russellville, Ky. and L. B. ``Pete'' and Ethel Wright of Wytheville; one sister, Mrs. C. N. Hedrick of Galax; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Grubb Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Peterson and the Rev. Sonny Ayers, with the interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
