Jill F. Shenton and W. Russell C. Adamson were united in marriage Saturday, August 17, 1996, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Charlottesville. The Rev. Dr. John Q. Hall, Jr., officiated.
Mrs. Karen Wheatley Curtis of Herndon served as matron of honor. Peter C. Adamson, father of the groom, was best man. Bridesmaids were Miss Amy B. Lakatosh, Miss Aimee L. Carter and Miss Catherine G. Ritchie, all of Charlottesville. Groomsmen were C. W. Adamson II of Providence Forge, brother of the groom, Michael A. Shenton of Lynchburg, brother of the bride, and Jeffrey Osborne of Daleville. Flower girls were Kelly Dixon and Kelly Cramer. Kyle Dixon was ring bearer.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the UVA Alumni Hall.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvert A. Shenton of Earlysville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peters C. Adamson of Daleville.
After a trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Randolph, New Jersey.
Bowles-Wade
Elizabeth Ann Wade and Richard Wayne Bowles were married August 17, 1996 in Woodlawn United Methodist Church. The officiating clergyman was Rev. Arthur Grant. The reception was held at the Ramada Inn.
Ginni Wray of Richmond, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Meredith Johnston and Susan Craft, both of Roanoke and friends of the bride. Eric Bowles of Princeton, W.Va., brother, of the groom, was the best man. The ushers were Calvin Wade of Roanoke, brother of the bride; and Chuck Hudgins of Salem, friend of the groom. Cyndi Hamilton was the guestbook attendant.
The bride is the daughter of Ralph and Marguerite Wade of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Cave Spring High School in Roanoke and Roanoke College in Salem. The groom is the son of Richard and Bonnie Bowles of Princeton, W.Va. He is a graduate of Princeton High School, Princeton, W.Va. and served in the U.S. Air Force. He is employed by Network Integrators, Salem.
The newlyweds will live in Salem after the wedding trip to Virgina Beach.
Broome-Lintner
Melissa Rae Lintner and Stuart Randall Broome were united in marriage July 29, 1996 at the Little Log Wedding Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The Rev. Dennis Colwell officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bryan and Sharon Lintner of Christiansburg, Va.
The groom is the son of Ed and Emilie Broome, also of Christiansburg, Va.
Both sets of parents served as witnesses at the ceremony. Also attending the wedding were the bride's niece and nephews, Jennifer, Andrew, and Charles Thomas, of Lexington, Va.
The bride's bouquet and other flower arrangements for the wedding were created by the groom's father.
The groom's parents hosted a dinner after the wedding at The Park Grill in Gatlinburg.
Following the wedding dinner, a reception was held at the Edgewater Hotel.
The bride is a 1985 graduate of Christiansburg High School and a 1995 graduate of Radford University. She is employed as a teacher at Galax Elementary School.
The groom is a 1981 graduate of Christiansburg High School and has attended New River Community College. He is emp loyed at Va. Tech in Blacksburg, Va.
The couple will live in Wythe Co. following their wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains.
Carpenter-Spradlin
Stephanie Lynn Spradlin and Brian Keith Carpenter were united in marriage on July 11, 1996, in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Reverend Melvin Lonas officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of James and Cheryl Bush of Vinton. She is employed by Drs. Bihel and Anderson, D.D.S.
The groom is the son of Judy Carpenter of Vinton and Charles Carpenter of Vinton. He is employed by Rainsoft.
The newlyweds will reside in Hardy after their honeymoon in the Smoky Mountains.
Compton-Wade
Debra Sue Wade and Jeff Wayne Compton were united in marriage Saturday, May 4, 1996, at Auburn Baptist Church, Riner, Virginia, with the Reverend Glenn Griffin officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Camey Wade of Christiansburg, Virginia. She is a graduate of Auburn High School and Radford University and is employed as a software engineer at VTLS Inc.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Jeff Compton of Christiansburg, Virginia. He is a graduate Christiansburg High School and is employed by Alliant Technology.
The bride wore a white satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and long fitted sleeves. The back bodice featured a heart shape with pearl dangles. The semi cathedral train featured embroidered medallions and w as edged with lace. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of rose buds and ivy.
Margie Boothe, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Ruby Compton, sister of the groom, Sandy Landreth and Dianne Morris, cousins of the bride, Valerie Myers, friend of the groom, and Debbie Seagraves, friend of the bride, were bridesmaids. The flower girl was Miss Tiffany Compton, niece of the groom.
Jeff Compton, father of the groom, served as best man. Chris Compton, cousin of the groom, Kenny Compton, brother of the groom, Barry Sheppard, friend of the groom, David Wade and Steve Wade, brothers of the bride, were groomsmen. Junior groomsmen were Mr. Travis Wade, cousin of the bride, and Mr. Timmy Woolwine, nephew of the groom.
The couple will reside in Christiansburg.
Cundiff-Caveness
Christy Monsour Caveness and Derek Bayne Cundiff were married during a small ceremony on June 15, 1996, among family and close friends. Jon Reynolds, brother of the groom, served as best man and Laura Monsour, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor. Flowergirl was Alexandrea Caveness, daughter of the bride and ring bearer was Christopher Stout, cousin of the bride. A Scripture reading was done by Andrew Monsour, brother of the bride. The reception was held at Sutton Ballroom, Roanoke College. Derek is a graduate of Roanoke Catholic High School and Virginia Tech. He is currently a second year graduate student in the School of Architecture at Virginia Tech and is employed with Lakes Home Center of Moneta. Christy is a graduate of Roanoke Catholic High School and Roanoke College and is employed as a teacher with the Roanoke City Schools. After a wedding trip to New York City, the family will make their home in Roanoke County.
DeBord-Newell
Martha Elizabeth Newell and Jason Scott DeBord were united in marriage at seven o'clock in the evening on August 17th, 1996, at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Virginia, with Dr. Bill Baker officiating. The reception followed the ceremony at Hidden Valley County Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Newell, Jr., of Salem, Virginia. She is the granddaughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. Virgil Lilly of Roanoke, the late Mrs. Sarah A. Renick of Roanoke, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Newell, Sr., of Port Orange, Florida.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary DeBord of Glen Allen, Virginia. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard DeBord of Glen Allen, Mrs. Damon E. Evans of Chillicothe, Ohio, and the late Mr. Evans.
Escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a gown of georgette shantung designed by Bonny. The fitted bodice was enhanced with alencon lace, pearls and delicate rosettes. The ``V'' neckline and basque waistline were accented by lace. The short sleeves were comprised entirely of rosettes and the hemline was complimented by alencon lace and pearls. The back of the gown was accentuated with rosettes at the top of the cathedral train. She carried a cascading bouquet of roses and summer flowers.
Anne Lovern, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Ashley Cook, cousin of the bride, and Miss Courtney Keister and Mrs. Kyle Williams, friends of the bride. Sarah Cook and Mary Wilson, cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids. Jordon Cuckler, cousin of the groom, served as flower girl. Guest book attendants were Darla Baldwin and Karen Davis, friends of the bride. Chad and Christian Crandall, cousins of the bride, were program attendants.
Mr. Gary DeBord, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Will Dameron, Jay Endicott, Dave Hancock, Darren Lacy, John Moncure and Long Nguyen, friends of the groom. William Cook and Keith Wilson, cousins of the bride, we re ushers. Ring bearer was Andrew Cook, cousin of the bride.
The wedding music was provided by Roma Scriven, pianist, Jean Repass, organist, Annamarie Kresge, violinist, and soloist Richard Rudolph. Photography was by Jim Markey.
The bride is a graduate of Cave Spring High School, Roanoke, Virginia, and Radford University. She is pursuing a master's degree in speech language pathology at Radford University. The groom, a graduate of Hermitage High School, Richmond, Virginia, obtained a B. S. degree in geology from Radford University. He is employed by Schnabel Engineering, Blacksburg, Virginia.
After a wedding trip to Bermuda, the couple will reside in Christiansburg, Virginia.
Dezzutti-Walker
Elizabeth Anne Walker and John Joseph Dezzutti were united in marriage on August 17, 1996, in a seven o'clock ceremony at Colonial Avenue Baptist Church. The Reverend Branan Thompson officiated the double ring ceremony. The wedding reception was held immediately after the ceremony at the Sheraton Inn Roanoke Airport. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents on Friday evening at The Steak and Ale.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Suzanne Jennings, sister of the bride of Salem, Va. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Robyn Dillon, cousin of the groom of Wirtz, Va.; Ms. Rebecca Thompson, cousin of the bride of Wilmington, N. C.; Ms. Martha Glass, friend of the bride of Natural Bridge Station, Va.; and Ms. Kristin Napier, friend of the bride of Atlanta, Ga. The flower girl was Desiree Dezzutti, cousin of the groom of Springfield, Va.
The best man was Mr. Gino Dezzutti, father of the groom of Roanoke, Va. Head groomsman was Mr. Fred Jasper, friend of the groom of Raleigh, N. C. Groomsmen were Dr. Brian Dezzutti, brother of the groom of Houston, Texas; Mr. Donnie Dillon, cousin of the groom of Wirtz, Va.; and Mr. Allen Clark, friend of the groom of Roanoke, Va. The ring bearer was David Jennings, nephew of the bride of Salem, Va.
The wedding was directed by Mrs. Debbie Seagle, friend of the bride. Mr. Richard Jennings, step-father of the bride, was the Scripture reader. The guest book was attended by Ms. Sharon Tyler, friend of the bride. The programs were attended by Ms. Chasity Kinzer and Ms. April Charles, friends of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mr. Doug Jennings and Mrs. Jean Dezzutti, soloists, and Mr. Richard Tomlinson, organist. Photography was provided by Barry Brooks. Videography was provided by Jim Clevinger.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jennings of Roanoke, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Walker of Salem, Va. She is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Radford University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gino Dezzutti of Roanoke, Va. He is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Radford University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing. He is employed by Macy's Department Stores as a Department Manager at Tyson's Galleria.
Following a wedding trip to Aruba, the newlyweds will make their home in Alexandria, Va.

Krepps and Rebecca S. Krepps of Troutville, Va., is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and is a student at Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, S.C. The newlyweds will liv e in Charleston, S.C. after the wedding trip to Wells, Vermont.

Miss Betsy Shea Starnes and Mr. Sebastien Louis were married on Saturday, August 17, 1996 at 11:30 in the morning at Thrasher Memorial Methodist Church in Vinton, Virginia. Dr. George Wesley Jones performed the ceremony.
The bride, escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson Starnes of Vinton. She graduated from The College of William and Mary and holds a certificate of proficiency in the French language from the University of Nice.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Louis of Baccarat, France. He is a graduate of the School of Hotel Management and Catering in Strasburg, France. He attended the University of Nice.
The bride's sisters, Miss Shannan Starnes of Lynchburg, and Miss Jennifer Starnes of Knoxville, Tennessee, were Maids of Honor. Miss Su Yu, of Winston-Salem, N.C., the bride's college debate partner, was bridesmaid.
Mr. Ronald Louis of Baccarat, France, served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Peter Giraudeau of Roanoke and Mr. Chris Pendleton of Centreville, Va., friends of the groom. Ushers were Mr. Richard Thrasher of Vinton, high school teacher of the bride, and Mr. Charles Anderson of Columbus, Georgia and Dr. Harry Nickens, both of Vinton and friends of the groom.
The flower girl, Miss Allison Lubert of Knoxville, Tennessee, cousin of the bride, carried petals from the bride's rose garden. The ringbearer was Mr. Cody Gilmer of Piney Flats, Tennessee, cousin of the bride.
Readers were Miss Erin Jenkins of Herndon, Va. and Miss Kathryn Morgan of Richmond. The bride's book was kept by Miss Amanda Rezba of Winchester, Va., and Miss Leigh Archer of Salem. All are sorority sister of the bride. Program attendants were Miss Sharon Belue and Miss Anita Hoback of Vinton, both childhood friends of the bride.
Mrs. Edna Barnes, of Cortez, Florida, great-aunt of the bride, was organist. Sisters of the bride provided special music. Soloist Shannan Starnes was accompanied on the piano by Jennifer Starnes. The wedding and reception were directed by Mrs. Ann Anderson and Mrs. Alicia Nickens.
A luncheon reception was held in the Crystal Ballroom of Hotel Roanoke. After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, Montreal and Quebec, the couple will reside in Vinton, Virginia.
Markham - Plank
The marriage of Amy Lynne Plank, daughter of Ervin Glennmore Plank and Martha Fisher Plank, to Lance Corporal Scott Andrew Markham, U.S.M.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dennis Markham, took place Saturday, May 25, 1996 at 2 p.m. at Vinton Baptist Church. Pastor Nolan Teague presided. A reception followed in the church social hall.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Maid of honor was Paige Markham of Washington, D.C., sister of the groom. Other bridesmaids were Amanda Malone and Nancy Roger s, and the guest book was attended by Rebecca Rogers, friends of the bride. The best man was Fred Markham, father of the groom. Other groomsmen were Jason Duncan of Roanoke and Lance Corporal James Grant, U.S.M.C., Statesville, N.C., friends of the groom.
The bride wishes to express her appreciation to Patina's for their assistance. The wedding was directed by Barbara Wilfong. Music was provided by Martha and Amy Fisher. One selection played had a very important meaning to the bride and groom, ``This Is Me, Missing You'', which helped them get through their times of being apart.
