Former Patrick Henry High School standout Curtis Staples scored 29 points for the second consecutive game to lead the Virginia men's basketball team past Brother Gent 91-74 on Sunday in Gent, Belgium.
Norman Nolan added 20 points for the Cavaliers, who are 2-1 on their six-game exhibition tour of Belgium and France.
Jamal Robinson had 18 points and Courtney Alexander chipped in 16 for Virginia, which built a 14-point halftime lead and never was threatened again. The closest Brother Gent, a second-division pro club in Belgium, could get in the second half was 10 points.
Chris Alexander, playing for the short-handed Cavaliers by invitation after completing his eligibility, grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
``The trip has been very positive to this point,'' said Jeff Jones, UVa's coach. ``We've seen some positive things and some things that need work. We're looking forward to our three remaining games.''
The Cavaliers play Wednesday in Nancy, France.
