Mill Mountain Theatre has announced its 1996-97 season of musicals, comedies and dramas.
The season begins on the Main Stage in October with ``Dream, Dream, Dream'' (Oct. 24-Nov. 10), a trip down memory lane to the music of the Everly Brothers.
Upbeat music will put a new twist on ``A Christmas Carol'' (Dec. 4-29). Lorraine Hansberry's ``A Raisin in the Sun'' (Feb. 12-March 9) is the season's classic drama. Set in the 1950s, it is the story of an African American family teetering on the poverty line.
Next is ``Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'' (April 15-27). Comedian Steve Martin's ``Picasso at the Lapin Agile'' (May 7-25) transforms a bistro into a battlefield when two young geniuses, Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein, meet and debate subjects of universal relevance: science, art and sex.
``The Who's Tommy'' (June 18-July 20) is a stage adaptation of the 1969 rock opera. The New York Yankees take on the Washington Senators and the Devil himself in ``Damn Yankees'' (July 30-Aug. 24).
