AIRBORNE EXPRESS LEASES FACILITY

Airborne Express has leased a proposed air freight facility in Roanoke AirPark on Thirlane Road adjacent to the UPS processing facility and Roanoke Regional Airport.

Ralph Williams of Copty & Co. said Merstone II Limited Partnership will develop and lease a 48,000-square-foot facility to Airborne Express. Two subsequent phases of 35,000 square feet and 26,000 square feet are proposed.

When the three phases are completed, the investment will total $7 million, according to Williams, who represented the sellers. John Milligan of CB Commercial represented Merstone II in the purchase of the 8.99-acre tract.
