Pulaski Heilig-Meyers completes remodeling

PULASKI - After remodeling for the past two months, the Pulaski Heilig-Meyers showed off its revamped interior Friday.

The makeover of the 28,000-square-foot building at 1065 E. Main St. has included new dividers, carpeting and decorations to showcase its wares.

"We look like a brand-new facility," store manager Joe Bane said at the reopening ceremony Friday. The reopening events continued today. Reinforcements from staffs of some of the 20-plus Heilig-Meyers stores in Virginia and West Virginia are helping the 12 Pulaski employees.

The company more than doubled its stores during the first half of this decade with a number of takeovers and corporate expansions.
