MAN CHARGED WITH SODOMY

A Bedford man has been charged with sexually abusing four young boys over the past eight months.

Charles Wayne Bartleson, 33, was charged Friday with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, five counts of forcible sodomy and six counts of aggravated sexual battery.

Bedford Police Chief M.H. Graham declined to say where the offenses occurred, citing concerns that the location might identify the victims. He also declined to provide the ages of the four juveniles, for the same reason.

Bartleson, who Graham said has been convicted of similar offenses in New Jersey, was being held without bond Saturday in the Bedford County Jail.
