through Hurt Park last month he vowed to clean up the public housing

project. Since 1992 the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority

has spent $2.6 million for site and building improvements. Bowers

said he has received a list of current and proposed renovations to

the complex from the authority. More than $500,000 in roof and

sewage replacements are currently under way, and $430,000 in

improvements are proposed, including refurbishing and construction

of playgrounds. color.
