PLEA AGREEMENT REACHED

Gary Wayne Barker has agreed to testify in future trials concerning last year's slaying of 22-year-old Virginia Tech student Alexander V. DeFilippis. See the story in today's Virginia section about Monday's trial, which was cut short by a plea agreement that will put the 20-year-old Barker in prison until his early 60s. Two other suspects await trial.
