A suspected drug dealer who escaped from Hanover County deputies during a trip to the dentist has been recaptured in Jamaica, the U.S. attorney's office said.
Ronald Zebrowski was arrested Saturday in Mandeville, Jamaica. His brother David ``Mad Dog'' Zebrowski, their father, Stephen Zebrowski Sr., and a fourth man believed to be Orrandy ``White Boy'' Goodwyn, also were arrested, said U.S. Attorney Helen Fahey.
Drug Enforcement Administration officials said the four were fugitives from a federal indictment returned by a Richmond grand jury. They and 10 other people were charged with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine throughout the Eastern United States.
Federal agents believe the drug ring picked up cocaine from suppliers in south Florida and New York City and drove it into Virginia in a fleet of stolen cars.
Ronald Zebrowski was arrested in Hanover County April 17 with three kilos of cocaine and more than $342,000 in cash. However, he gave police an alias and Hanover authorities said they did not know he was wanted under the federal indictment until after he escaped.
Zebrowski was being led out of the dentist's office June 6 in shackles and handcuffs when an armed man overtook two deputies from behind, forced them to the ground, and hustled Zebrowski to a getaway car.
Of the 14 defendants, all but three have now been arrested.
An Oct. 16 trial is set for all of the defendants.
