BROWN, Maxine Loretta Robinson, 44, of Roanoke, passed away at her home early Sunday morning, August 25, 1996. She was the daughter of the late Curtis E. Robinson, Sr. and Barbara Robinson Shavers. Survivors include her husband, Andrew Brown, Jr.; two daughters, Lyndetta D. Ellington and Chuntae C. Brown; one stepdaughter, Dawn C. Brown and one stepson, Derek Brown, all of Roanoke; mother, Mrs. Barbara Jean Shavers, Salem; god-daughter, Bernice Sinclair, Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Curtis L. Robinson, Chicago, Ill., and Michael Eugene Robinson, New York, N.Y.; two sisters, Gloria L. Bratton, Roanoke and Darlene Price-Waldren (Clarence), of Covington; mother-in-law, Mrs. Frances Brown; sister-in-law, Betty Jenkins; brother-in-law, Francis (Velva) Brown; two devoted friends, Paula Ford, Roanoke and Paulette Gadlin, Cheyenne, Wyoming; and a host of other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday 2 p.m. at Jerasulem Baptist Church. Dr. J. Eugene Young will officiate with the Interment in Fairview Cemetery. FLOWERS, Edward Lee, 74, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, August 25, 1996. Survivors include one cousin, Katherine Harris, Lynchburg; devoted friend, Alex Thompson, Roanoke; a host of friends. GOBBLE, George W., 89, of Abingdon, died Monday, August 26, 1996 at his home. He was a native and lifelong reside nt of Washington Co., Va. and a retired farmer. He was an elder and trustee of the Maple Grove Presbyterian Church for 40 years. Surviving are his wife, M. Evelyn Gobble; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Wayne Dutton, Roanoke, Bebe and Joh Rush, Westminister, Md.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lowell and Vivian Gobble, Vinton, Va., Jack and Millie Gobbe, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 1996 in the Forest Hills Chapel Mausoleum with Mr. Mac McElroy and Mr. Dan Bowell officiating. KINZER, Mary Margaret Beamer, 74, of Kingsport, Tenn., died Sunday, August 25, 1996. She was born in Radford on May 17, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Robert Preston and Nellie Albert Beamer. She was a graduate of St. Lukes School of Nursing, Bluefield, W.Va., and retired from the Holston Valley Community Hospital, Kingsport, Tenn. She was preceded in deat h by her husband, Charles Edward Kinzer. She is survived by one brother, William Preston Beamer, Belspring; three sisters, Dolores B. Showalter, Hiwassee, Gaynell B. Wright, Hiwassee, and Gilda B. Williams, Radford. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. and funeral service immediately following visitation at the Gray Funeral Home, Gray, Tenn. LARGEN, Pat, 66, of Hillsville, passed away Monday, August 26, 1996, at his home. He was born March 10, 1930 in Carroll County. LUCK, Mary Neda Bowles, 95, of 840 Randolph Street, Bedford, died Monday, August 26, 1996, in a Bedford nursing home. She was born in Bedford County on July 28, 1901, a daughter of the late Abram Fuqua Bowles and Mary Jeames Jeter Bowles. She was owner and proprietor of Mary Lee's Dress Shop for 50 years and a member of Bedford Baptist Church. She was p receded in death by her husband, James Pascal Luck; three brothers; and one sister. She is survived by two nieces, Joann Sneed and Dorothy Spickard, both of Bedford. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 1996, at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. David L. Henderson officiating. LYNCH, Lula Ema Light, 96, of Route 2, Meadows of Dan, died Monday, August 26, 1996, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born in Patrick County March 11, 1900, daughter of the late Austin E. Light and Mary Bowman Light. She was a lifetime resident of Meadows of Dan and most recently had resided at the summer cottage of her daughters, Lu Fralin and Sylvia Bell in Meadows of Dan. She was a charter member of the Mayberry Presbyterian Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Lynch in 1969; and a son, Mike R. (Polly) Lynch in 1984. She is survived by one son, John W. ``Junior'' Lynch of Christiansburg; six daughters, Mrs. Dale (Maisie) Alderman of Christiansburg, Mrs. Gerald (Sylvia) Bell of Hopewell, Mrs. J. Donald (Lula) Fralin of Collinsville, Mrs. Archie (Peggy) Bolt of Meadows of Dan, Mrs. Julian (Pearl) Turman of Stuart, and Mrs. Jean L. Clark of Meadows of Dan; a beloved grandson, John B. Franklin of the homeplace; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Mayberry Presbyterian Church in Meadows of Dan with burial in the John B. Lynch Family Cemetery at the home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home in Stuart and other times at the homeplace where Mrs. Lynch will lie in state immediately following the visitation. She will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.

NANCE, Martha Rozier, 58, of 781 Dorian Dr., Fayetteville, N.C, died Sunday, August 25, 1996 at her home. She was born May 22, 1938 in Robeson County, N.C., daughter of the late Hugh Rozier and Monie Conner Rozier of Fayetteville, N.C. She retired from the VA Hospital and was currently employed at Wellman, Inc. as a nurse . In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, William T. Nance; one son, Ken Ennis of Lumberton; one daughter, Tamara Nance of Fayetteville, N.C.; two grandchildren; one brother, Charlie E. Rozier of Roanoke. PATTON, Robert G., (``Bob""), 55, of 100 Gentry St., Galax, passed away Sunday, August 25, 1996 at his residence. He was born February 2, 1941 in Galax to Fred G. and Eva Ballard Patton. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Campaign and was co-owner of both Old Town Market and Diamond Produce, Galax, Va. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Jennings Patton, of the home; son, Chad Patton, of the home; mother, Eva Patton, Galax; brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Charlotte Patton, Galax; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Vaughan, Galax, Kathy and Jerry Williams, Princeton, W. STANLEY, Earl Monroe, 73, of Henry, died Monday, August 26, 1996, at the V.A. Medical Center in Salem. Mr. Stanley retired from the Stanley Furniture Company and was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II, having served in Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Fannie Ingram Stanley; and a grandson, Greg Stanley. Surviving are his wife, Mabel Young Stanley, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Carroll and Bonnie Stanley, Rocky Mount; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Larry Ingle, Bassett; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Elton and Pearl Stanley, Ferrum; one sister and brother-in-law, Verlie and Grady Holley, Martinsville; two half sisters, Edna Prillaman, Georgia, Marie Carter, Rocky Mount; a number of nieces and nephews. STEVENSON, Bess Lawton, 82, of Charlotte, N.C., died Monday, August 26, 1996. A memorial service will be held at Woodlawn United Methodist Church Wedne sday, August 28, at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive in the Narthex of the church after the service. A private burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Stevenson was born January 3, 1914, and lived in Roanoke until 1992. A graduate of Marshall University, she taught at Jefferson High School and Woodrow Wilson Junior High. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Louis Santospago of Charlotte, N.C. and Mrs. Robert Raikes of Winchester; grandchildren, Kim Barnhardt, Tom Santospago, John Santospago of Charlotte, Kate Raikes and Matthew Raikes of Winchester; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Stevenson. Burial will be in Roanoke. TEANY, Susan Caldwell, 53, of Christiansburg, passed away Sunday, August 25, 1996, in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. She was a member of the Laurel Hill Church of Christ, and had been the librarian at Radford High School for over 25 years. Pre ceded in death by her father, Tazwell H. Caldwell, she is survived by her husband, George W. ``Sonny'' Teany; one daughter, Laura Teany, Christiansburg; her mother, Elva ``Toots'' Caldwell, Riner. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Mr. C. E. Mannon and Rev. Joe McCoy, with interment to follow in the Teany Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Riner Fire Department or the Laurel Hill Church of Christ. WHITE, Leafy J., 98, of Peterstown, W.Va., died Sunday, August 25, 1996, at a home health care facility in Princeton, W.Va. Born August 24, 1898 at Elgood, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Greely and Nannie Thompson Holdren. Mrs. White was a homemaker and a member of the Peterstown Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Giles White; and three sons, Louis, Giles Jr., and James White. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Don (Marian Gaye) Dunbar of Peterstown, W.Va., Ms. Frances Varner, Ms. Geraldine ``Jerry'' Brown, and Mrs. Phil ``Dorothy'' Fox, all of Princeton, W.Va.; one sister, Lizzie Clemons of Glen Lyn; three half brothers, Don Holdren of Rich Creek, Kenneth Holdren of Glen Lyn, and Clyde Holdren of Radford; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
