A 25-year-old Northwest Roanoke man was shot twice early Thursday by a masked man in his back yard.
Police said a masked man walked up to Wilton Aiken of Hanover Avenue about 2 a.m. and shot him in the right knee and left ankle. Aiken was in stable condition later Thursday at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Police said there was no apparent reason for the attack.
