HOW DO you get to the Kennedy Center? Practice, practice, practice.
That's what UJIMA, the resident dance company of The Center of Dance in Blacksburg, will be doing between now and Sept. 8, when the group will perform at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Kennedy Center in Washington.
The Blacksburg troupe is one of 50 acts from across the country chosen to perform - out of hundreds that auditioned. The recognition is especially nice for this group because it is less than two years old.
UJIMA, in case you were wondering, stands for United Joyfully In Movement Arts. The name was adopted from the Swahili word meaning ``collective work and responsibility.''
