LITTLE AMONG FIVESOME HEADING FOR FERRUM HALL

Jerry Franklin Little of Boones Mill is one of five Virginians who will be inducted into the Ferrum College Sports Hall of Fame during ceremonies at 7p.m. Sept.21 at the Roanoke Airport Marriott.

Joining Little in Ferrum's third class are: Lawson A. ``Slick'' Andrews (Class of 1961) of Gretna, Richard Mills Barrett ('58) of Richmond, Walter Murrie Bates Jr. ('70) of Charlotte Court House and Judson Philip Mason Jr. ('67) of Montclair.

Little (Class of '66) was named MVP in football and baseball in 1966. He returned to Ferrum as baseball coach and defensive coordinator of the football team. Little went on to coach at William Fleming and Cave Spring high schools and is athletic director at Franklin County.

Andrews served as co-captain of Ferrum's football and basketball teams and also lettered in baseball. Andrews has been a teacher and coach at Gretna High School since 1967.

Among his other accomplishments, Barrett scored the first touchdown in Ferrum history. Bates gained acclaim as the No.1 seed on the men's tennis team, while Mason served as trainer and manager of the football, basketball and baseball teams.
