Michelle Sarver had 14 points and five steals Friday to lead Rocky Gap to a 54-43 victory over Carroll County in the second round of the Carroll County Tip-Off Tournament in Hillsville.
Jamie Johnson and Sara Boone had 10 points each for the Eagles.
Carroll County led 18-14 before Rocky Gap went on an 18-2 run in the second quarter. The Cavaliers never got closer than seven.
Angie Farmer had 14 points and 16 rebounds for Carroll County (1-1) .
Rocky Gap (1-1) will play Grayson County at 4:45 p.m. today and Carroll County will face Auburn at 7:45.
Lord Botetourt 81, Bath County 25: Katrina Elliott had 12 points and four steals in the first quarter to spark the Cavaliers in the second round of the Bank of Botetourt Tip-Off Tournament in Daleville.
Sarah Hicks scored 23 points for Lord Botetourt (2-0), Amy Bird had 14 and Sara Moore 12.
Katie Hardbarger scored 14 points for Bath County (1-1).
Lord Botetourt will take on Liberty in the championship game today at 7:30 p.m.
Jefferson Forest 72, Liberty 33: The Cavaliers built an early lead and cruised to the victory in the Bank of Botetourt Tip-Off Tournament in Daleville.
Melinda Minnick led Jefferson Forest (1-1) with 20 points. Liberty (0-2) trailed by 24 points at halftime and could not make a run in the second half.
Thursday's game
Parry McCluer 45, James River 43: In the opener of the Craig County Invitational on Thursday, Parry McCluer passed James River in the final quarter to gain a spot in the championship game opposite Covington. The Fighting Blues were led by Nikki Barger with 15 points and Lindsey Coleman with 13. James River's Nakia Burrell scored a game-high 20 points.
