FLOYD COUNTY ROLLS 71-58

Floyd County broke open a close game in the second quarter to coast to a 71-58 victory over Patrick County at the Floyd County Tip-Off tournament in Floyd.

The Buffaloes (2-0) were led by Jill Quesenberry with 18 points, Sara Conner with 16 and Julie Sowers with 14.

Jennifer Jessup paced Patrick County with 14 points.

Sandi Reid led Magna Vista with 16 points and Katrenna Redd added 10.

Lansbella Tabb led Nelson County with 13 points.

Michelle Anderson had 21 points for Heritage (1-1) and teammates Kim Moss and Annika Jordan scored 17 and 16 points, respectively.

Covington 47, Parry McCluer 39: The Cougars took control in the fourth quarter to break open a tight game with the Fighting Blues and leave with an eight-point victory in the Pioneer District Tip-Off Classic in New Castle.

Parry McCluer (1-1) scored only two points in the last four minutes of the game to help Covington (2-0). They were led by Joanne Helton and Melissa Page, who scored 13 points each. Lindsay Coleman led the Fighting Blues (1-1) with 15 points.
