FLOYD CO. GIRLS RIP BLACKSBURG IN TOURNAMENT

Jill Quesenberry scored seven of her 12 points in the first quarter Monday to spark Floyd County to a 63-42 victory over Blacksburg in the Floyd County Tip-Off girls' basketball tournament.

Floyd County jumped out to a 21-2 first-quarter lead and cruised.

Sara Conner had 15 points to lead Floyd County (3-0) and Karen Pursifull added 11. Quesenberry also had seven rebounds.

Karly Geller scored 11 points for Blacksburg (1-2).

Patrick County 65, Fieldale-Collinsville 37: Holly Weber scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers, as the Cougars routed the Cavaliers in the Floyd County Tip-Off Tournament.

Patrick County (2-1) jumped out to a 18-8 lead and coasted to victory.

Jennifer Whitt scored 17 points for Fieldale-Collinsville (0-3).
