MEDIA GENERAL GIVES VICE PRESIDENT NEW POST

Robert W. Rogers was appointed vice president in charge of operations for the Media General Publishing Division, the Richmond-based communications company announced Tuesday.

In his newly created position, Rogers is responsible for all equipment, supply, safety and environmental concerns of Media General's publishing operations, according to a company news release.

Rogers had been vice president of operations at Richmond Newspapers Inc., a unit of Media General, since 1992. He joined RNI in 1985 as assistant production director and joined the Wichita (Kan.) Eagle as production director in 1990.

Media General also appointed Bernard A. Niemeier Jr. director in charge of planning and development for Media General.
