THE SCIENCE MUSEUM OF WESTERN VIRGINIA has named four new trustees. They are: Jamie Waldrop, Robin Reed, Harry C. Nickens and Dave Partington.
The museum also announced its new officers: Barry L. Henderson, president; John P. Grove, vice president; Donald R. Higgins, vice president; Robert E. Tonkinson, treasurer; and Sydney Nordt, secretary.
THE ROANOKE SYMPHONY VOLUNTEER ASSOCIATION has announced new officers for the 1996-97 year. They are: Margaret Thacker, president; Jennifer Hanes, vice president; and Carole Hughes, secretary.
JUDY FITZGERALD, a member of the Moneta Lions Club, was recently elected vice governor for District 24E Lions of Virginia.
She is a past president of the Moneta Club and has served in various chairwoman positions with her home club and at the district level.
FLOYD WARD SCHOOL OF DANCE recently competed in the National Dance Competition held in Greensboro, N.C. They received four gold medals in four numbers, which were "Thriller," "Georgia" (both choreographed by Jill Graybill), "Moonshiners" (choreographed by Julie Arthur), and "Opus 1," a solo by Mary Frances Vest.
Students performing in the other three numbers were: Vest, Cheyenne Graybill, Sheila Bojarski, Misty Witt, Sherri Robinette, Cora Bradley, Crystal Wilkes, Delisa Pascoe, Lauren Bain, Meg Way, Heather Adkins, Stephanie Warf, Caroline Foley, Kristy Mathis, Amanda Lytton, Susan Spears, Crystal Barnard, Karamy Kelley, Wendy Wertz and Charity Turner.
