LINDA G. QUESENBERRY has been elected Woman of the Year by the North Roanoke Chapter of American Business Woman's Association. She is an accounting assistant for Thor Inc., a Roanoke general contractor, where she has been employed since 1993.

LIN CHAFF PUBLIC RELATIONS & ADVERTISING of Roanoke has won a Medallion Award for superior performance for public relations during 1995 at the 49th annual Virginia Public Relations Awards ceremony held in Richmond. Chaff's award, which was in the special projects, noncommercial, low-budget category, was for the YMCA Roanoke Valley's "Partners of Youth, Winners for Life" fund-raising campaign. The firm has won the Medallion Award seven out of the past eight years.

SALLY WOODSON BOWLES, business/lease manager for Rick Woodson Honda, has earned the Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals' certified finance and insurance professional designation. Bowles has worked in the automotive industry for 10 years.

LEE EDDY, a member of the Fifth Planning District Commission and the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors, recently was awarded the Dixon Award at the annual conference of the Virginia Association of Planning District Commissions for his leadership and outstanding contributions in promoting the concept of regionalism in Virginia.

C. NOELL PARCELL has been named Agent of the Year by Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co. for 1995.

SHERRY BADII of Roanoke has completed a course in colored stones (gems other than diamonds) with the Santa Monica, Calif.-based Gemological Institute of America, and has been awarded the institute's colored stones certificate.

ROBERT W. KIDD, an agent in the Roanoke district office of American General Life and Accident Insurance Co., has reached his 10th anniversary; and ERIC V. MARINER SR., district sales manager, and BARBARA W. BURTON, support staff member, have marked their fifth anniversaries with the company, a subsidiary of American General Corp. based in Houston, Texas.

GERALD D. HUDGINS, formerly of Roanoke, has been honored by Honeywell Inc., as a recipient of its Golden Eagle award. Hudgins is principal service specialist of field operations for Honeywell at Container Corp. of America in Fernandina Beach, Fla.

LEE PARSONS of Troutville recently was awarded a certificate of membership to the President's Council of the National Association of Health Underwriters' "Leading Producers Round Table" at the national convention in Atlanta. He was recognized for his achievement in sales of long-term care insurance, for which he is a broker and consultant in Roanoke. Parsons also was appointed senior issues chairman for the East Coast Region of the association.

DANIEL RICHARDS, a driver for Howell's Motor Freight Inc. in Roanoke, placed 10th nationwide in the Company Equipment Driver of the Year contest sponsored by the Interstate Truckload Carriers Conference and OverDrive Media Group. Winners were chosen based on safety record, past awards and recognitions, number of years as a company driver and a statement of support from contestants' chief executive officers. The conference is affiliated with the American Trucking Associations Inc.

READ A. LUNSFORD and THO-MAS S. TURNER of Hall Associates Inc. in Roanoke have achieved the SIOR designation awarded by the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, an international association of professional commercial real estate brokers.

CLARISSA WILSON has joined Cox Communications as a customer service representative. She formerly was a teller at Crestar Bank and a customer service representative for Pitney Bowes and RPS Teleservice Center Inc.

VICKIE HOPKINS, office manager at AAA of Virginia in Roanoke, has been awarded the Helen Dixon Memorial award for her outstanding work with civic organizations such as M.A.D.D., Drunk Driving Awareness, rescue squads and R.E.A.C.H.

GREG RIELEY, a customer sales/service representative, was awarded the Winner's Circle award for having the highest percentage of AAA Plus sales in the Mid-Atlantic division and also the highest number of points over his quota.

VICKIE HUNGATE, an auto travel counselor with AAA, has been inducted into the 25-Year Club for years of service with the travel company.

ANGIE HART has joined ExecuTrain Corp. as a computer training instructor in the Roanoke office.

TINA MARIE STULL has been employed as a clerical assistant in the closing department of the Roanoke office of Lawyers Title Insurance Corp. Stull previously was a commerical insurance specialist with First Union Bank of Virginia. She has also been a consumer laon processor with First Virginia Bank.
