BHS open house
BLACKSBURG - The Blacksburg High School PTSA will have an open house Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A brief PTSA meeting in the auditorium will start the evening. Afterwards, parents can visit classrooms and teachers, and discuss curriculum for specific courses. Refreshments will be provided by the PTSA in the commons area.

PTSO meeting
CHRISTIANSBURG - The Christiansburg Middle School PTSO will have its first meeting Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. The Christiansburg High School marching band will present a program at the meeting. Merchandise for the fall fund-raiser also will be on display. The fund-raiser will be Sept. 6-16. Refreshments follow the program.
Library dedication
PEARISBURG - There will be a dedication ceremony for the new Pearisburg Public Library Sunday at 2 p.m. The new facility is located at 209 Fort Branch Road. The dedication ceremony is sponsored by the Town of Pearisburg, the Library Advisory Board and the Friends of the Library. The public is invited to attend and tour the new library.
