Two men were injured early Friday when shots were fired outside a bar in Northwest Roanoke.
Larry W. Mills of Rutherford Avenue was shot in the left arm and Harold Pratt of Dewey Street was struck in the stomach after gunfire broke out about 2:15 a.m. outside Omirr's in the 1700 block of Melrose Avenue, police said.
Mills, 27, was listed in stable condition Friday at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Pratt, 24, also was taken to the hospital, but officials would not release his condition. Police said Pratt's injury did not appear to be life threatening.
Police said an argument had taken place outside Omirr's shortly before the shots were fired, but an investigation revealed little more information. Authorities believe the shots were fired by one person.
Mills told police that the bar was closing and he was leaving the area when he heard a gunshot. People outside the bar began to run, Mills said, and a second shot hit him in the arm.
When police arrived a few minutes later, there were about 40 people gathered outside the bar. There have been no arrests.
