Peace talk

David Little, a senior U.S. Scholar at the United States Institute of Peace, will speak on ``The Continuing Significance of Max Weber'' on Sept. 13 at 4 p.m., in Presser Recital Hall at Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Lynchburg.

Little will speak on Weber's approach to society and religion.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Poetry reading

Poet R.T. Smith, editor of the literary magazine Shenandoah, will read from his work Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. in the Alice Jack Room of the Smith Building, Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Lynchburg.

Smith is the author of 17 volumes of books and chapbooks. He was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in 1986 and 1991 and has won several national poetry awards.
